`Presenting with Confidence’
CFSR members, volunteers and advisors were keen to learn about the top ten presentation
skills while attending a training course on presenting with confidence offered by Apex
Scotland. As part of the training and development programme, this course covered key
elements of delivering a presentation to an audience to enhance the individual’s confidence

`Motivational Interviewing’
CFSR members and volunteers attended a training and development programme offered by
the Apex Scotland. The training courses offered were ‘Motivational Interviewing’’. The
principles of the course were to understand the thought process related to the problem, to
identify and measure the emotional reactions to the problem, to identify how thoughts and
feelings interact to produce the patterns in behaviour, and to challenge thought patterns and
implement alternative behaviours. read more >>

In our communities today there are many very clear and significant indications of the inequalities,
discrimination and racial disharmony that can arise out of class, gender, ethnic differences or problems
relating to assimilation and integration; or for a variety of other reasons. Whatever the reason may be,
there is no easy way of dealing with all these problems in our communities [society]; but one thing is
certain, that these problems hinder equality of opportunity, good relations between racial groups and

CFSR held a seminar on 2nd April 2006 at Skatepark Conference Centre in Dundee discussing poverty in Dundee and Bangladesh. Participants spoke about how poverty affects the population and compared both Dundee and Bangladesh experience. read more >>

Summer Seminar July 2006: 'Harmony through Dialogue: Community Cohesion and Integration'
'Closeness and loyalty of any community to Scottish culture is very important on which the true integration and true equality is greatly dependent. Bangladeshis existence in Scotland will enable people of Scotland to learn about their history, art & culture, and environment.
